With just 2 weeks notice, I packed my bags for a Storytellers Abroad Workshop to Lime, Peru. God opened doors and clearly made the way for me to go at the last minute. A team of videographers, photographers, missionaries, and instructors met for training in creating compelling and effective visual stories from on the mission field.
Each student created a video on a Peruvian who is involved in a ministry or who's life has been changed because of the work that God has done through the ministries!
I worked with Carol. A young Peruvian girl who is very active in leading youth programs at her church, volunteering at the prenatal center, and teaching a class called Adventures In Waiting. The video we created will be used to draw interest in the class and have more people sign up to attend.
Shooting and editing video has been a fun and challenging skill to learn. This trip helped me learn about not just technics in shooting and editing, but technics in telling a story, understanding the person in the video, and shooting for the right audience. Video is still quite challenging to me. But I am grateful for the training and people that God has placed in my life to help me learn!
