My sister is getting married. When did we grow up and get old? It is a little weird to think about. My big sister...getting married.
In my mind I always know that it is probably going to come someday and we talked about it together growing up.
Then the day came when she brought John home. Before I knew it she is running into the house Christmas night, hands shaking with a diamond ring glittering in the Christmas tree lights.
Wedding planning was soon the topic of most conversations around our house. Dresses were picked out and Sarah and I watched as Liz found the perfect wedding dress for her wedding day!
There are so many stories and memories my sister and I share. Growing up together with barely two years between us, we fought with each other, laughed till we cried. We were the best of friends and the worst of friends. Love and hated all within a few minutes. She kept me out of trouble more times then I can count.
I don't think of it so much as loosing a sister, but gaining a brother. John Fox and Liz fit each other so well, we couldn't have found a better person for Liz if we had tried. God knows what he is doing and has a specific time for everything. Soon we will be saying welcome to the family to John Fox.
On memorial day I did a special engagement shoot for them in the woods where Liz and I grew up.
Liz, thank you for being an amazing big sister and always taking care of me growing up. I know you and John will be happy together as you grow closer to God and closer to each other. God bless you both as you continue your new lives together through marriage!
